By Car
* Leave the A184 (Felling bypass) at the Heworth Roundabout and follow the A185 (Shields Road) for approximately three quarters of a mile. Turn left at the traffic lights (signposted towards Bill Quay Community Farm). The bookshop is on the right hand side, opposite Bill Quay Methodist Church.
By Bus
* Go North East's 27 and 27A Crusader buses stop near the traffic lights at the corner of Station Road and Shields Road (Pelaw High Street) and run every 15 minutes serving Jarrow, Hebburn, South Shields, Gateshead and Newcastle.
By Metro
* Pelaw Metro Station is a 5-10 minute walk from the shop. On leaving the station head towards Pelaw High Street (A185), turn right down the High Street until you reach the traffic lights next to 'I Do' ( the wedding shop). Turn left into Station Road. You will find the bookshop on the right hand side, opposite Bill Quay Methodist Church.
By Bicycle
* Bill Quay Books is only a few minutes from The Keelman's Way Cycle Route (NCN14) - an off-road route for cyclists that follows the south bank of the River Tyne from Wylam to Bill Quay. This path then continues eastwards towards South Shields as part of the South Tyne Cycleway. |
